Hi everyone. Merry Christmas to me! And my new forever mom and dad. Mom and Dad have been without a 4-legged kid for about 3 years. They loved their previous doggie kid, Gracie, so much that they had a hard time finding another perfect match. Miss Kathy and the ASVT people read mom’s Dream Pet request and showed her my picture. That was on December 20. Mom and Dad came to see me at my foster home in a driving rain on December 21st and we fell in love at first sight. They decided then and there that I was their new doggie kid and loaded me up in Dad’s Jeep and took me to the shelter to get adopted.
Since then, it’s been busy, busy, busy. I’m about 9 months old, and full of puppy magic. There are times I’m stubborn, and times I’m a total hoot! But no matter which one I am…I know I’m loved and I have my forever home. Mom says that we start school on January 25th – something about PetSmart and puppy obedience class? Hmm, don’t know about that, but I know that Mom wants to go…so I guess I’ll tag along. I’ve learned how to sit, walk on a leash next to mom like I’m supposed to, and play a fair game of fetch. I’m not real interested in a dog park yet, and walking at a big park is still a pretty scary thing for me. But I know Mom will help me get over that. I love riding in the car and jump right in.
Mom and I go to work together every day. We spend the morning in her office and going on walks. I have my own bed and toys there. Everyone at work likes me, even though I’m mostly scared of them except for Miss Kim and Miss Annie. They give me treats. Mom’s boss, the owner, wants to be friends with me, but I’m still scared a little. Mom says she hopes the puppy class will help me be less afraid of people I’m not around all the time.
Anyway, we are doing great as a family. Gracie would be proud of me. I’m helping mom find that special spot in her heart again…and I’m glad it’s me that showed it to her!
