Dear Mom,

I really miss you, but wanted to let you know how it is going.  My new Mom and sisters are turning out to be real good for me.  I am eating a lot of different kind of foods.  The other night my new Mom gave each of us a bite of angel food cake and it was the best thing I had ever tasted in my life.  I wanted more so bad that I jumped in my new Mom’s lap.  She didn’t expect that and she told me that wasn’t allowed again, but she did give each of us another bite, so I will probably do it again.

I have my own bed in the living room, for when we all watch TV together.  No one else ever gets on my bed, so I can keep the stuffed animals I love on my bed and they are there when I go back.  There are so many toys.  The Beagle, Bojangles, and I run through  the house making the squeakers squeak and I love to throw the stuffed animals in the air and run after them.  I have been playing tug-of-war with the Shepherd Brandy.  She likes to win, so I usually let her.

I also have my own bed in the bedroom.  Sometimes the bed gets so full of dogs, that there is no place to stretch out, so I have my own place I can go to.  Plus, Bojangles is a very gassy dog and it’s hard to sleep when all I can smell is a fart.  Bojangles has her spot on the bed and Brandy and I just fit in where we can.  My new Mom doesn’t like it when she is asleep and I crawl to her face and give her a kiss.  What is wrong with her?  She does like to fall asleep hugging me and I really like that.

Please don’t forget to send my new Mom the microchip information.  She saw me last weekend jump and touch the top of our fence, when I was running the fence line with a squirrel.  I almost had him and she made me come inside.  She doesn’t know it, but I do it every day.

The medicine I am taking has cleared up ears and my paws don’t itch anymore.

The pic attached shows me in my favorite spot in the world.  Whenever no one can find me I am outside in my spot under the big oak tree.  It stays cool and I get to watch the squirrels and possums run the fence line.  I am enjoying my new life.  I miss you, but don’t worry about me.  I am very happy and I might have put on a pound or two.

Your best friend always!

Duke

LOOKS GREAT! we're coming to look at a pup this week... Maybe we'll have the next story up here on "Happy Tails!" ;)

Haha laughed out loud reading Duke's message. I'm glad he is so happy and has access to a computer! He should have his own blog!
